ArtCondo Newsletter Fall 2015

A QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER FOR CREATIVES INTERESTED IN NYC REAL ESTATE

AUTUMN GREETINGS FROM ARTCONDO!

ArtCondo is moving into the September season with many opportunities beckoning. We met over 400 people this summer, and if we haven't met you yet, we'd like to invite you to one of our upcoming meetings on September 29, October 2, or October 7th (see below) to learn about upcoming opportunities. ArtCondo is focused on helping NYC artists, galleries, non-profits, and creative businesses purchase space in NYC, beginning with raw work-spaces. Work-spaces can be used as art studios, galleries, pop-up exhibitions, creative-business offices, art storage, and all industrial/manufacturing uses. (Live/work spaces coming soon!)

ArtCondo is a community-focused initiative, and we are looking for additional collaborators, investors, future buyers, and renters, as well as Institutional support. We are expanding our base as we move forward and can use your participation. Please check out the following updates, and take a moment to share our info on Facebook or Twitter since we are a grass-roots organization trying to reach NYC's diverse creative communities. Your sharing with your networks is much appreciated.

WORK SPACES IN MOTT HAVEN, SOUTH BRONX

Our purchase of SoBro factory building for work spaces and artists' studios is slowly moving forward with a few new steps, pivots, (and moon-walk foot slides!). Mott Haven is a great neighborhood, 20 minutes commute from Union Square, and resembling Williamsburg 20 years ago. For those interested in learning more about the upcoming purchase and possibly joining the group as an investor, rent-to-own buyer, or standard renter, we will be having 3 upcoming informational sessions. Please invite your friends!

Tuesday, September 29th @ 7 pm 853 Broadway, 15th floor (south of 14th st)
Friday, October 2nd @ 7 pm 853 Broadway, 15th floor (south of 14th st)
Wednesday, October 7th @ 7 pm 853 Broadway, 15th floor (south of 14th st)

Meetings will take place at the Union Building, 853 Broadway, 15th floor (south of 14th Street).

NONPROFIT FOUNDATION and SWEAT EQUITY

ArtCondo's Non-profit arm is still being formed, with its vision being refined and determined by participants. If you would be interested in helping with nonprofit formation, or any of the other needed work for ArtCondo real estate and building development please send an email to artcondo2013@gmail.com with FOUNDATION/SWEAT EQUITY in the subject line. Sweat Equity will be given for all work, and we will be in touch regarding future meetings to discuss further.

IMPORTANT: If you have helped in the past, but not sent in your hours, please fill in the weekly individual time-sheet template (Weekly_Ind_template.xlsx) and send info to David Kirshbaum at Artcondosweatequity1@gmail.com. It is critical that everyone send in hours with signature, since we cannot give future attribution without your paperwork and hours documented.

SURVEY — FOR ANY & ALL FUTURE REAL ESTATE PURCHASES!

ArtCondo can help you purchase a standard residential NYC coop or condominium, mixed-use building or commercial property for user-owners. We specialize in helping artists and small businesses, who often have more complex financial statements and situations which can make purchasing difficult.

ArtCondo LLC is a Brooklyn-based community-focused real estate initiative created to help creative professionals purchase and develop buildings throughout the NYC area, in partnership with neighborhood residents. We are working to help artists, arts non-profits and art-related businesses purchase commercial spaces to work in and residential town homes to live in. Our upcoming non-profit, the ArtCondo Foundation, will provide artists, arts organizations and other cultural stakeholders with more affordable and cost-subsidized working spaces for teaching, music, theatre, dance, photography, green roofs, and other creative enterprises across NYC's five boroughs. Additional information is available on our upcoming website www.ArtCondo.com. You may unsubscribe if you no longer wish to receive our emails. UNSUBSCRIBE here.
